PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out versatile multislice tomography by making a single instrument fully exhibit the strengths of a fan beam reconstruction method and a cone beam reconstruction method. SOLUTION: The X-ray computed tomographic system has a two-dimensional X-ray detector 103 detecting X rays produced from an X-ray tube 101 and transmitting an examinee P, a DAS 104 receiving detection signals of the X-ray detector 103 through switched 103a and generating projection data of the examinee P, a reconstruction device 114 reconstructing the projection data output from the DAS 104 by the fan beam reconstruction method, and generating a tomogram, and subsequently reconstructing by the cone beam reconstruction method and generating a tomogram. The specification of the two kinds of reconstruction methods and the sequence is implemented by an examination plan preparation system (input device 115) interactively with an operator.
