PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing and a material for the rolling bearing having a superior low-noise capability, a corrosion-resistance and a long life. SOLUTION: A plurality of rolling bodies 3 are provided between an inner ring 2 and an outer ring 1. The rolling body 3 is made of high carbon chromium bearing steel, and at least one of the inner ring 2 and outer ring 1 is made of martensitic stainless steel. An area rate of eutectic carbide contained in this stainless steel is from 2 to 7%, a longer diameter of the eutectic carbide is 30μm or less, an average value of a circle-equivalent diameter of the eutectic carbide is from 1.0 to 1.6μm, and an average area of the eutectic carbide is from 0.8 to 2μm<SP>2</SP>.
