PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having a ground structure easily fabricated and requiring little quantity of material used. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal display element 2 with lead terminals 6 arranged therein and connected thereto, a holding case 3 for holding the liquid crystal display element 2, a printed wiring board 4, and a ground plate 5 mounted on the holding case 3 while covering only one end edge of the liquid crystal display element 2 and each of the lead terminals 6 and connected to the ground circuit of the printed wiring board 4. The ground plate 5 comprises a terminal covering section 5a covering the outer side face side of each of the lead terminals 6, an element end edge covering section 5b covering one end edge of the liquid crystal element 2, ground connecting sections 5c connected to the ground circuit, and elastic locking piece sections 5d formed in a cut and rising shape. A locking section 3g is provided which restrains each of the locking piece section 5d in a comming-off preventive manner by elastic restoration of the locking piece sections 5d when the ground plate 5 is inserted along a ground plate inserting groove section 3e and mounted on the housing case 3.
