SOLUTION: This invention has the following components: [1] A component adjusting agent for sample water for water quality measurement comprising reducing sulfur oxides. [2] A component adjusting agent of [1], characterized in that the sulfur oxides comprise sulfites and/or thiosulfates. [3] A component adjusting agent of [2], characterized in that the sulfur oxides comprise one or more kinds selected from among sodium hydrogensulfite, sodium sulfite, and sodium thiosulfate.
