PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air conditioner in which a room temperature quickly reaches a set temperature in a high temperature at the beginning of cooling operation, and in a low temperature at the beginning of heating operation, and the room temperature quickly reaches the set temperature even if a load of a room is large so as to improve comfort. SOLUTION: An operating time of at least one large capacity of a compressor at the beginning of the operation, an outdoor blower or an indoor blower is set by an outside air temperature detected by an outside air temperature detecting device to longer at heating when the outside air temperature is low and to longer at cooling when the outside air temperature is high, and by an indoor temperature detected by an indoor temperature detecting device, the operating time of at least one large capacity of the compressor, the outdoor blower device or the indoor blower device is controlled by a control part to be cancelled or prolonged.
