PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a motor driving element and a heat radiation structure while generating large torque necessary for a shift from a P range, in an automatic transmission with a range change using a motor. SOLUTION: A boost circuit 18 is disposed to boost a battery power source 1. For a shift from a P range, the boost circuit 18 is operated to supply the motor 19 with a voltage higher than the voltage of the battery power source 1 and thereby generate large torque necessary for the shift from the P range, For a shift except from the P range, in contrast, the operation of the boost circuit 18 is stopped to supply the battery voltage 1 as it is to the motor 19.
