PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber for facilitating positioning of a cylinder and a bottom valve to an outer cylinder and for reducing dispersion of product quality. SOLUTION: A round portion 15 is formed on a lower end side of a large diameter portion 9b of the bottom valve 9, and a round portion 16 is formed at a bottom portion of the outer cylinder 7. Since the round portion 15 is brought into slide-contact with an inner face of the round portion 16 to follow a shape of a spherical surface of the inner face, shaft centers of the cylinder 2 and bottom valve 9 can be self-aligned with respect to a shaft center of the outer cylinder 7. Therefore, the positioning is facilitated and quantity production of the hydraulic shock absorber 1 is largely promoted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
