PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor magnetic sensor wherein detection sensitivity is improved by generating a large signal difference, depending on the magnetic field to be detected. SOLUTION: N<SP>+</SP>source regions 11a and 11b and n<SP>+</SP>drain regions 12a and 12b are formed at two different sites as they are separated from each other, and a constricted area 26 where a channel region 14 is narrowed is formed in the channel region 14 so as to concentrate a carrier flow near the channel region 14 on a borderline (A-A line) of the above separating region. As a result, carriers that flow into the n<SP>+</SP>drain regions 12a and 12b as they are deflected by the magnetic field to be detected can be increased. Therefore, a difference between currents each taken from the n<SP>+</SP>source regions 11a and 11b can be expanded, and the sensitivity of the semiconductor magnetic sensor can be improved.
