PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double acting pressure intensifying cylinder which arbitrarily performs the pressure intensifying stroke, obtains high driving force, is miniaturized, has a simplified structure, is inexpensively manufactured, and reduces troubles such as failure and the like, and also to provide a cylinder pressure intensifying method using the double acting pressure intensifying cylinder. SOLUTION: This double acting pressure intensifying cylinder 30 comprises a first cylinder 10 and a second cylinder 20 connected in series through an action chamber 14, and respectively comprising a first oil chamber 11 and a second oil chamber 21, and a first piston 12 and a second piston 22. A rod 13 is slidably inserted into the action chamber 14. The first oil chamber 11, the second oil chamber 21 and the action chamber 14 are respectively provided with first through fourth oil feed ports 4 and an air hole 5. The action chamber 14 is provided with a check valve 6 at the second cylinder 20 side with respect to the second feed port 2. The check valve 6 allows the working fluid and the like to flow only in one direction from the first cylinder 10 to the second cylinder 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
