PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft magnetic thin film which has a superior and low coercive force, high Bs, and high resistivity and a thin film magnetic head which uses the soft magnetic thin film has a superior write performance. SOLUTION: A soft magnetic thin film contains 40 to 80 at.% Co, 15 to 40 at.% Fe, 5 to 20 at.% Ni, 0.5 to 5 at.% B, and 0.4 to 5 at.% C and is manufactured through an electroless plating method.
