PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capital and beam joint structure of a square steel pipe column capable of relatively easily reinforcing a beam joint part of a steel pipe column in the manufacturing process and reducing its cost. SOLUTION: The capital and beam joint structure connecting a beam 2 made of an H section steel to the side face in the capital of a square steel pipe column 1 is provided. An end plate 3 extending in the vertical direction of a lower flange 2c is installed at the end of the beam 2. A reinforcing member 4 is put on the inside face of the steel pipe column 2 corresponding to the plate 3. The end plate 3 is connected to the steel pipe column 1 by a bolt 5 inserted through the whole of the end plate 3, the wall of the steel pipe column 1, and the reinforcing member 4. A top plate 6 is connected to the upper end of the steel pipe column 1. The top plate 6 has the end plate part 6a and an arm part 6b extending the upward part of each beam 2. The arm part 6b is put on the upper flange 2b of the beam 2 and connected by the bolt 7. A working opening 8 is formed in the end plate part 6a of the top plate 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
