PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a coating composition for a spectacle lens which permits simplicity in the manufacture, cost reduction of the coating composition and suppression of deterioration with time of properties of a cured coating film and is excellent in preservation stability. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the coating composition for a spectacle lens comprises adding an acetylacetonate metal salt (C) and an aliphatic amine (D) to a mixed liquid comprising a metal oxide colloid particle (A) and an organic silicon compound (B).
