PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer-separation device ensuring a high image forming speed, adaptable to miniaturization of an apparatus and capable of satisfactorily performing transfer and separation without exchanging a transfer belt even in long-term use and to provide an image forming apparatus using the device. SOLUTION: In the transfer-separation device, a transfer belt 6 has≤55°C ultimate temperature and contains an organic additive having the endothermic peak at 58-80°C by 0.5-20 wt.% of the total amount of the transfer belt 6. The organic additive is preferably a wax. The transfer belt 6 preferably contains polychloroprene rubber. The belt 6 is made in such a way that calory at the endothermic peak at 58-80°C in differential scanning calorimetry becomes 5-40 J/g. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
