PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing solution for a silver halide photographic sensitive material having low environmental toxicity, ensuring excellent transparency, little unevenness in drying and few droplets when a transparent support is used and ensuring little unevenness in drying, few droplets and good surface conditions when paper is used. SOLUTION: The processing solution for a silver halide photographic sensitive material contains a compound represented by formula (I) wherein R is an 8-20C alkyl; m is a number of 4-50; and n is a number of 0-20.
