摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem concerning chips posed when a clearance portion (recess) is formed at the middle portion of the inside surface of a sintered bearing by machining, and also to solve the problem where the middle portion of the outer peripheral surface is also expanded and an after treatment becomes necessary to remove the expanded portion when the middle portion is expanded by plastic forming. SOLUTION: The sintered bearing is inserted into a sleeve which has a recess formed beforehand at the middle of its inner peripheral surface, and a core rod is inserted into the sintered bearing so as to penetrate the bearing. In this state, when the bearing is compressed from the upper and lower sides, the middle portion of the bearing expands, and the clearance portion (recess) is formed at the middle portion of the inside surface of the bearing. On the other hand, because the recess of the sleeve is filled with the expanded portion of the outer peripheral surface of the bearing, the sintered bearing is coated with the sleeve as a whole and a composite sintered bearing having no undulation on its outside surface is manufactured.
