METHOD FOR FACILITATING START OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further facilitate a start of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In a method for further facilitating the start of the internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder with at least one piston provided inside for reciprocating between a top dead center and a bottom dead center, air or fuel-air mixture is sucked through an intake line by movement of the piston heading for the bottom dead center. After the piston passes the bottom dead center and starts to move toward the top dead center, the air or the fuel- air mixture is exhausted from the cylinder through the intake line. An intake valve is closed at a time point when changed over to the top dead center. A control element arranged in the intake line closes the intake line after the piston passes the bottom dead center. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
