PURPOSE: Provided are a nucleating agent excellent in dispersibility in a crystalline polymer and effective in improving transparency and mechanical strength of the crystalline polymer, and a crystalline polymer composition containing the same. CONSTITUTION: The nucleating agent comprises a compound represented by formula 1, wherein each R1 and R2 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and M represents an alkali metal, The nucleating agent has an average particle size of 10 micrometer or less, and shows substantially no crystalline peaks in X-ray diffractometry. The crystalline polymer composition comprises the nucleating agent and 0.01 to 10 times the weight of an aliphatic organic acid metal salt.
