A method of performing a downlink transmission by a base station, comprising: receiving, from a neighboring base station, a bitmap indicating an available subframe set; determining whether to set a null region in a first downlink subframe on a first carrier based on the bitmap, the null region including one or more contiguous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols; mapping at least one of a downlink control channel or a downlink data channel to the first downlink subframe including a control region, a data region and the null region other than the control region; shifting the first downlink subframe by at least one OFDM symbol in a time domain, when the first downlink subframe is aligned with a second downlink subframe of the neighboring base station; and transmitting the at least one of the downlink control channel or the downlink data channel via the first downlink subframe on the first carrier to a user equipment, wherein the null region corresponds to a portion or all of a control region of the second downlink subframe of the neighboring base station, wherein the null region locates where the at least one of the control region or the data region of the first downlink subframe had been located before the shift of the first downlink subframe, and wherein information for determining a position of the null region is provided to the user equipment.
