<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system for a vehicle capable of making a driver's steering sensation excellent by eliminating the influence of vibration from the circumference of an engine and vibration transmitted from the ground surface during the travel of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This steering system M for the vehicle is provided with a steering shaft 2 connected to a steering wheel 1; a gear box 3 having a pinion part 31a meshed with a rack shaft 8; and a motor 4 provided at the rack shaft 8. The steering shaft 2 and an input shaft 32 of the gear box 3 are disposed in a completely separate state but close to each other in part. Engaging parts 22g, 32a engaged when the steering angle of the steering wheel 1 is a prescribed angle or more, are respectively formed at the parts close to each other. When the steering angle of the steering wheel 1 is less than the prescribed angle, vibration from the input shaft 32 is absorbed by a clearance between the engaging parts 22g, 32a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
