A polypeptide belonging to a subfamily of the human Immunoglobin superfamily shows over the entire length of its sequence at least 70% homology with the amino acid sequence of the murine Confluency Regulated Adhesion Molecules 1 or 2 (CRAM-1 or CRAM-2) as depicted in Figure 3. The polypeptides are useful in the treatment of inflammation reactions, wherein at least one part of the amino acid sequence comprises the extracellular domain VC2 and/or the membrane proximal cytoplasmic sequence: A-[Y,Q]-[R,S]-[R,K]-G-[ C,Y]-F, and in modulating vascular permeability. Also described are antibodies directed towards the polypeptide and poly- and oligonucleotides that encodes the polypeptide.
|
