PURPOSE: A clamp circuit and a boosting circuit using the same are provided to generate a rapid and stable word line voltage during a data read operation. CONSTITUTION: A voltage divider part receives the first voltage, and divides the first voltage. A comparison part(110) receives a reference voltage, and compares the reference voltage with a divided voltage divided through the voltage divider part, and outputs the first signal if the divided voltage is higher than the reference voltage, and otherwise outputs the second signal. And a voltage drop part is driven by the first signal, and drops the first voltage to the second voltage.
