<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch module miniaturized and low in manufacturing cost though having input and output of many channels. <P>SOLUTION: An input channel is divided into a plurality of input channels by input side optical deflection arrays 110a and 110b and an output channel is divided into a plurality of output channels by output side optical deflection arrays 130a and 130b. The input side optical deflection arrays 110a and 110b and the output side optical deflection arrays 130a and 130b are joined to the incident side and the outgoing side of a common optical waveguide 120, respectively. Thereby, sizes of optical deflection element parts 113 and 131 are made small and manufacturing efficiency can be heightened. The length of the propagation direction of optical signals in the common optical waveguide can be reduced, for example, by adopting such a joining structure that respective joining directions to the common optical waveguide have the angle at which the respective joining directions mutually converge between the input side optical deflection arrays 110a and 110b adjacent to each other and between the output side optical deflection arrays 130a and 130b adjacent to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
