PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner for developing an electrostatic image with which an image quality is not changed over a long term by presenting an excellent image by a developing system without using a cleaning blade and also an excellent developed image is always formed even though an environment is changed from low temperature and low humidity to high temperature and high humidity and a developing method using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner for developing the electrostatic image is constituted by adding one kind of oxide particles selected among alumina, silica, zinc oxide, titanium oxide and iron oxide whose BET ratio surface area is from 20m<SP>2</SP>/g to 80m<SP>2</SP>/g and whose electrified quantity is from -400μC/g to -700μC/g and one kind of oxide particles selected among them whose BET ratio surface area is from 160m<SP>2</SP>/g to 380m<SP>2</SP>/g and whose electrified quantity is from -700μC/g to -900μC/g to the surface of toner host particles, and the electrostatic image is developed and printed by a cleanerless system and nonmagnetic one-component development that a photoreceptor and a developing roller are substantially brought into contact so as to perform development by a roller electrifying system by using the toner for developing the electrostatic image.
