PURPOSE: A method for managing title play history information in an optical disc system is provided to record and manage a plurality of title information played previously and user play information as title play history information and read and display the title play history information as desired by a user, thereby searching various title information and play information conveniently. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing title play history information in an optical disc system includes the steps of storing to a memory title information such as titles, directors/actors, plots, typical images and the like recorded in a lead-in area of an optical disc(S10). When playing operation for reading and playing the title from the optical disc is finished(S11,S12), information such as playing time of the title, playing frequency, and finish of the playing is recorded in association with the title information stored in the memory as the title play history information(S13). User evaluation grade for the title of which playing is finished is included in the title play history information as a list(S15). As the reading and displaying of the title play history information is requested(S16), menu screens in the list form are displayed for the searching and checking of the user with respect to the title play history information(S17). If title information searching menu is selected among the menus, recording beginning position of the title information corresponding to the title searching menu is searched and the titles, directors/actors, plots, typical images and the like are read out and displayed(S18,S19).
