<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine the period of construction work for a building from the architectural area of the building to be constructed, relating to a method for calculating the period of construction work of, e.g., a building. <P>SOLUTION: For a building to be constructed, its application, the kind of the building structure, information on whether or not the building has basements, and its architectural area to be constructed are inputted from an input device 12. A central processing unit 13 extracts and reads from a storage device 17 regression equations corresponding to a variety of data on the application, the kind of the building structure and information on whether the building has basements, and factors related to the regression equations.
