<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a returnable box which has predetermined strength and durability, can be simply and compactly folded, is excellent in recyclability, and can be recovered into resources without causing environmental pollution. <P>SOLUTION: The returnable box 1 is constituted of a rectangular base plate 2, two bending side plates 4 provided on two opposite sides of the base plate 2, and two swinging side plates 12 provided on the two remaining sides of the base plate 2. The bending side plates 4 and the swinging side plates 12 can be placed to be vertical to the base plate 2. The swinging side plates 12 support the bending side plates 4 and also can swing inwardly in the returnable box 1. The side plate 4 is formed with an inwardly folding crease 5 at a predetermined position of the side plate 4. Wings 6a and 6b at both ends of the crease 5 can be bent inwardly in the returnable box 1 like a hinge with the crease 5 as an axis.
