<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplexing apparatus which can determine an automatic meter reading narrow band or an automatic meter reading wide band codec class. <P>SOLUTION: In the multiplexing apparatus, automatic meter reading media data are inputted to data analyzers 103, 104, and header information and automatic meter reading codec information including the automatic meter reading narrow band or automatic meter reading wide band codec class is detected from the data.
