THERMALLY TEMPERED GLASS, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermally tempered glass, because a method for manufacturing a thin sheet tempered glass, in particular, a curved tempered glass having≤2.5mm thickness, is not conventionally established. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a curved thermally tempered glass is carried out by using two or more kinds of cooling nozzles having different aperture diameters d at a time to rapidly cool the glass in the process of manufacturing a thermally tempered glass by blowing an impact jet flow from a cooling nozzle to the glass. The process is carried out under the conditions ofϕ1 toϕ8mm aperture diameter d, 1 to 80mm distance Z between the nozzles and the glass, 0.1 to 0.8MPa pressure of the colliding jet flow, and≤150kW/m2difference in the heat flux. The thermally tempered glass has≤20MPa difference in the surface compressive stress in the glass plane. The thermally tempered glass is manufactured by the manufacturing apparatus.
