<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image recorder easily responding to channels changing according to a specification of image recording and the change without complicating the image recorder or increasing the number of components when a plurality of channels are provided and a plurality of main scanning lines are stored simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: When the channel order is switched due to movement of a recording head 37, switching control is performed at an LUT 160 when image data is transferred from a line memory 156 to a channel buffer 158 in correspondence with the switched arrangement.
