PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel cement admixture for preventing the decrease in press bonding strength due to water transpiration from the surface, i.e. a defect of cement for press bonding tiles, stones, etc. SOLUTION: The admixture for cement or cement mortar for press bonding tiles, stones, etc., comprises at least one kind of carrageenan selected from among carrageenans with sulfate groups (-OSO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>) and hydroxy groups (-OH) subjected to the equatorial conformation to the six-membered-ring galactose skeleton of carrageenan. Examples of the carrageenan with sulfate groups (-OSO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>) and hydroxy groups (-OH) subjected to the equatorial conformation to the six-membered-ring galactose skeleton areλ-carrageenan,μ-carrageenan,ν-carrageenan,ξ-carrageenan,π-carrageenan, andθ-carrageenan.
