PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route search device reduced in the operation load of a user when a route is not searchable. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 40 searches the route from the present position to a destination by use of map data recorded in a storage medium 21 by program processing. In this route searching processing, when the route to the destination inputted by a driver can be searched, the searched route is displayed on a display device 30, and this route is guided. When the route cannot be searched, it is determined whether a previously searched route is being guided or not, and the previous route is displayed on the display device 30 if it is being guided, and this route is guided. Further, when the route cannot be searched, and no route is guided, a history list of destinations inputted so far is displayed on the display device 30 with the destination input picture.
