The invention relates to a method for operating at least one first processing machine for material portions of flat material, wherein a first quantity of the material portions is collected in a deliverer of the first processing machine in the form of a first stack after at least one first processing stage, and wherein at least one first marking is introduced into the first stack, which marking serves to identify a transition from a first part quantity of the first quantity of the material portions to a second part quantity of the first quantity of the material portions, and wherein the first stack is fed to the first processing machine and the material portions of the first stack are separated within the first processing machine, and wherein at least one mark sensor which is connected or can be connected to the processing machine in terms of circuitry detects the at least one first marking, and wherein, as a reaction to the detection of the at least one first marking, at least one component of the first processing machine is set from a first operating state into a second operating state. |
