PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact cam mechanism for preventing a tilt bolt from loosening in a steering column tilt device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the steering column tilt device 1 for the vehicle, tilt nuts 13, 15 are respectively screwed on reverse screws formed on both ends of the tilt bolt 12, and the rotation of the tilt nuts 13, 15 is restrained by the engagement with an oblong hole 9 formed in a tilt bracket 7 fixed at a vehicle body side. A tilt handle 16 is fixed on one end of the tilt bolt 12, a cam surface formed on a end surface of the tilt nut 13 in a circumferential direction, and a plate spring 30 housed in an end part 16' of the tilt handle 16 are engaged with each other, and the rotation of the tilt handle 16 is given a sense of moderation.
