PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability and reduce the manufacturing cost by simplifying a structure, in an electric double-layer capacitor constituted of a plurality of laminated unit cells. SOLUTION: An insulation case 3 is inserted into a metallic case 2 having an opening and a bottom, then a plurality of unit cells 8 for the electric double-layer capacitor, having a column shape and whose upper and lower surfaces are utilized as terminals, are inserted into the insulation case 3; and thereafter, a metal cover 4 is arranged and the rim of the opening of metal case 2 is bent inwardly by 180°to apply caulking work. In this case, an insulating layer 7 is interposed between the bent part of the metal case 2 and the metal cover to secure insulation while extended parts are provided in one parts of the metal case 2 and the metal cover 4, to utilize them as a first lead terminal 5 and a second lead terminal 6.
