PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the noise of an image constituted of multiple pixels. SOLUTION: A single CCD image pickup device 1 subjects a G signal out of output signals of a single CCD imaging sensor 20 to special median processing and subjects an R signal and a B signal to averaging processing or processing with a median filter. Consequently, information of details of the image are allowed to remain while an effect of noise elimination is kept equivalent to that in images subjected to processing with the median filter throughout, and isolate points in the image are maintained though noise elimination is performed.
