PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a decorated molded object such as a keytop for a push-button switch with excellent transparency of a color design image and to provide the decorated molded object. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the decorated molded object, a coloring material layer is formed by printing the color design image in a porous image carrier layer formed in a base material sheet by an output device outputting color design data in batch, the coloring material layer is transferred to a resin molded object to be decorated, the transferred coloring material layer is left in the resin molded object and the base material sheet is peeled, a color design image layer is formed in the molded object, a transparent resin liquid is applied to the color design image layer and held, then hardened to form a transparent resin layer. In the decorated molded object, the porous color design image layer on which the coloring material showing the color design image is adhered and the transparent resin layer laminated in the color design image layer while infiltrating into a gap of the color design image layer are formed in the resin molded object.
