FILM CARRIER TAPE HAVING GOOD ANTI-MIGRATION AND ADHESION BETWEEN AN INSULATING FILM AND A WIRING AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A film carrier tape for mounting electronic devices thereon and a production method thereof are provided to have a good anti-migration and adhesion between an insulating film and a wiring. CONSTITUTION: The film carrier tape(10) for mounting electronic devices thereon comprises a surface treated insulating film(12); a seed layer(16) formed on the surface treated side of the insulating film; and a wiring(14) comprising a copper layer(18) formed on a surface of the insulating film. The seed layer comprises a zinc layer of a substantial Zn single element formed on the surface treated side of the insulating film and having a thickness of 10 to 300 angstrom; and a nickel based metal layer of a nickel based metal formed on a surface of the zinc layer and having a thickness of 30 to 500 angstrom.
