PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance user convenience by using remaining data resulting from eliminating an error occurrence part from a code sequence so as to allow a distortion amount of an image to be recognized when the image is progressively displayed.
SOLUTION: A distortion amount information extract section 32 extracts information (distortion amount information) with respect to a distortion amount of an image stored in a main header of the code sequence. An error detection section 34 detects the presence/absence of an error in the code sequence. An image distortion calculation section 35 calculates how much distortion is caused (distortion amount) in the entire image when packet data with the error are deleted by using the distortion amount information. When the image distortion calculation section 35 compares a sum of the distortion amounts with a prescribed reference value, the distortion amount is a threshold value or below and discriminates that the distortion in the image is small, an image output section 36 outputs image data after decoding the code sequence. When the image distortion calculation section 35 discriminates that the distortion amount is the threshold value or over and the distortion of the image is great, a decode stop section 41 stops decode processing of the code sequence and a notice section 40 informs of the occurrence of error.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
|
