摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method by which image roughening and surface fogging are effectively suppressed and an image of high image quality can be obtained, while carrying out development by applying high AC development bias, with respect to an image forming method by reversal development using an amorphous silicon photoreceptor. SOLUTION: An amorphous silicon photoreceptor is used as a photoreceptor drum and charged in such a way that surface potential of the photoreceptor drum ranges from +200 to +330 V, and a developer is fed by a developing sleeve in such a way that the amount of the developer in a development nip region ranges from 0.05 to 0.13 g/cm<SP>2</SP>. The ratio (S/D) between the peripheral speed of the developing sleeve and the peripheral speed of the photoreceptor drum is adjusted to a range from 1.3 to 2.3, and bias potential consisting of a DC component of from +150 to +250 V and an AC component having a frequency of from 4 to 9 kHz and an amplitude of from +1.3 to +2.3 kV is applied to the developing sleeve.
