PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a light emitting element emit light at a desired brightness.SOLUTION: A light emitting element drive device 10 includes: a drive unit 100 (not illustrated in Figure 14) supplying a drive current Iout to a light emitting string 20 that is constituted by connecting in series a plurality of light emitting components 2* (for example, *=1, 2, 3), each of the light emitting components 2* including each of light emitting elements L* and each of rank resistors R* integrated in parallel therein, respectively; and a rank adjustment unit 200 reading the resistor value of each of the rank resistors R* individually to detect the rank of each of the light emitting elements L* respectively, and adjusting the setting value Dset of the drive current Iout such that the lowest rank light emitting element emits light at a desired brightness, while, regarding the other light emitting elements, diverting the excess portion of the drive current Iout as a bypass current I4(*).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
