CARBON FIBER STRAND AND CHOPPED CARBON FIBER STRAND FOR FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN EXHIBITING HIGH MECHANICAL PROPERTY AND LOW ELECTROCONDUCTIVITY AND CARBON-FIBER REINFORCED RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber strand and a chopped carbon fiber strand for a fiber-reinforced resin having high mechanical characteristics and lowly suppressed electroconductivity and to provide a carbon-fiber reinforced resin composition added as the chopped carbon fiber strand and having high mechanical strength and low electroconductivity. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber strand for the reinforced resin exhibiting high mechanical properties and low electroconductivity comprises a carbon fiber strand having scarcely causing wrinkles extending in the longitudinal direction on the fiber surface and composed of single fibers having≤40 nm difference between the highest part and the lowest part in height within the range of 2μm circumference length of the fiber and 1.00-1.02 major axis/minor axis ratio in the fiber cross section and 0.035-0.060 mg/m single fiber weight,≥4,000 MPa strand strength and 230-370 GPa strand modulus of elasticity. The chopped carbon fiber strand for the fiber-reinforced resin is the carbon fiber bundle and has a flat cross-sectional shape having 0.15-5 g/m weight of the fiber strand, 1-50 mm cut length and 2-10 width/thickness ratio.
