PURPOSE: Provided is an anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical composition containing buckwheat and/or a buckwheat husk extract with anti-inflammatory activity. The pharmaceutical composition safely makes the intake thereof without making a separate purifying process, and inhibits the inflammation induced by endotoxin of bacteria or an inflammation inducing material. CONSTITUTION: An anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical composition comprises an extract of a material selected from the group consisting of buckwheat, buckwheat husk, and a mixture thereof. The buckwheat extract is a fraction obtained by extracting it using an aqueous solution of ethanol, acetone or methanol with 20-80% of water, and conducting absorption chromatography with respect to the solvent extract.
