PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 4-cycle engine to be mounted on a snowmobile capable of suppressing the space of the engine room and enhancing the easiness in the maintenance works. SOLUTION: The 4-cycle engine 2 to be mounted on the snowmobile 1 is structured so that a steering sleigh 13 is operated through a steering shaft 24 from a bar handle 26 and the maintenance works for replacing the engine oil can be conducted at the bottom of the engine room 6 inside a front cover 4 to be operated from outside the engine room 6, wherein the oil supplying system inside the engine 2 consists of a dry sump system in which the engine oil is supplied from an oil tank 40 in the engine room 6 inside the front cover 4, and an oil pan 38 is installed closely between a front suspension housing 11b of a body frame front 11 and a track housing 11c, and an intake manifold 37 and a carburetor 36 are installed in the neighborhood of the base of a windshield 28.
