PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate for a reflection type liquid crystal display device capable of embodying high numerical aperture and high brightness by providing a patterned spacer for maintaining a gap of a liquid crystal panel, and to provide a manufacture method thereof. SOLUTION: A data line is branched from one end of the substrate into a first line and a second line and the respective branched lines are constituted on the lower part of a reflection electrode which is formed on an adjacent pixel region in the parallel direction. The patterned spacer is formed in accordance with the separated region of the reflection electrode. Such a constitution does not require the formation of black matrix on the upper substrate corresponding to the data line as in the conventional practice, therefore, the numerical aperture of the coalescence margin considered when being designed can be secured and the high numerical aperture and high brightness can be further embodied. By forming the patterned spacer, the advantage of solving various kinds of problems caused by the use of the conventional ball spacer can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
