PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a highly efficient and compact vertical shaft type wind power generating device by enhancing utilization efficiency of wind. SOLUTION: The vertical shaft type wind power generating device 10 has a rotary shaft 31 of a wind mill section 30 connected to an input shaft of a generator 22. In this device, the vertical shaft type wind mill section is fixed to the rotary shaft 31 uprightly provided in a vertical direction with respect to a wind blowing direction. The wind mill section comprises blades 32-37 for receiving wind and giving turning force to the rotary shaft 31, a speed increasing section 40 for increasing a speed of wind blowing toward the blades, and a direction adjusting blade 38 for positioning the speed increasing section 40 in accordance with the blowing direction of wind.
