PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a squirrel-cage rotor which has a reinforcing member, having high effects for suppressing transformation in the direction of outside diameter of a short-circuit ring. SOLUTION: This is a squirrel-cage rotor, which is equipped with a rotating shaft 2; a stacked core 3, a plurality of through-holes 5 being made through in axial direction close to the periphery of the stacked core 3; a conductor part composed of a plurality of conductor bars 6, arranged in the through-holes 5 and a pair of short circuit rings 7 short-circuiting the conductor bars 6 at both ends in axial direction of the stacked core 3 and moreover being coupled to each other and also being integrally molded by casting process; and a pair of reinforcing members 8 covering the short circuit ring, thereby preventing the transformation of the short circuit ring. In this squirrel-cage rotor, the reinforcing member 8 is constituted of nonmagnetic member and is also arranged to cover the periphery of the short-circuit ring and the inner perimeter, and the axial center of the reinforcing member for the periphery and the internal perimeter of the short-circuit ring are coupled to each other, thereby constituting a substantially I-shaped cross section, and the short circuit ring 7 and the reinforcing member 8 are fixed mechanically, and the reinforcing member 8 is integrally molded with the stacked core 3 and the short circuit ring 7, at the casting of the conductor part.
