PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric component with illumination of low cost and good productivity. SOLUTION: The rotary electric component with illumination comprises a rotation detecting unit K which is operated by rotation of an operation part 6, and an illumination unit S which is stacked on the operation part side of the rotation detecting unit K. The illumination unit S comprises a housing 7 provided with a pair of fixed contacts 8, a rotor 10 which is provided with a pair of movable contacts 11 that slides on the fixed contacts 8 and rotatably mounted on the housing 7, and one light source 13 which is mounted on the rotor 10, with a terminal 11b made conductive to the movable contact 11. Since the rotor 10 can rotate along with the operation part 6, for rotation of the light source 13, only a single light source 13 is needed, resulting in less number of components, compared to conventional one, and low cost and good productivity.
