PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which suppresses noise in a consumables container capable of measuring a remaining amount of consumables with the use of a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: The consumables container capable of measuring the remaining amount of the stored consumables includes a consumables tank, a detection signal generating circuit, and a control part. The consumables tank stores the consumables and has the piezoelectric element set thereat. The detection signal generating circuit charges and discharges the piezoelectric element, and also generates a detection signal including amplitude information indicative of whether or not an amplitude of residual vibration after the discharge of the piezoelectric element is larger than a predetermined threshold. The control part controls the charging and discharging of the piezoelectric element by the detection signal generating circuit. This control part can change the predetermined threshold.
