PURPOSE: A method for constructing a LAN by premises hosts while extending an IP address assigned to premises hosts of each subscriber of an edge network with a LAN structure and an Internet access system including a home gateway implementing the same are provided to extend an IP address to be used by multiple premises hosts of an ELSS(Edge LAN Service Segment) to receive various Internet services. CONSTITUTION: A remote service management server(11) is installed in a service center of an ISP. DGs(Default Gateways)(12,13,15) are installed depending on a type of a service in an ELSS. An HG(Home Gateway)(17) is installed in each premises of a plurality of subscribers. The service types include a service for accessing the Internet through an IP sharer of an ELSS complex, a service for accessing the Internet without going through the IP sharer, an Internet access service through a DG of a home appliance control dedicated IP sharing system in the complex, an Internet access service through a DG of a VoIP dedicated IP sharing system in the complex, and a contents service by being connected to a contents server in the complex. The ELSS can be an apartment complex or a cyber-apartment providing a VDSL service and an EtherPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) service. A switch is installed in each floor and each apartment building, and an edge router(12) operating in the third layer of an OSI is installed at the interface of the ELSS and the ISP. The hosts(19a,19b) are connected to the HG(17) in the premises of a subscriber to form a LAN segment in the premises.
