PURPOSE: A security method using a camera of a mobile phone is provided to allow a user to monitor a remote area by automatically photographing the area at requested periods and automatically transmitting the photographed file to the user. CONSTITUTION: When a user sets a general camera mode, a general camera photographing and transmission function is performed(S1-S3). If a security mode is set according to a user's request, it is checked whether the user requests changing of various set values related to photographing, and if the user does not request changing of the set values, the pre-set values are used as it is(S4,S5). If the user requests changing of the set values, set values of a photographing start time, a photographing period, an address to which a photographed file is to be sent and a photographing end time are changed according to user's requested values and then stored(S6). It is checked whether the photographing start time arrives. When the photographing start time arrives, a transmission timer is initialized, and then, whenever the photographing period arrives, a monitor target area is photographed and a corresponding photo file is stored and transmitted to the pre-set address.
